Police: 1 injured in Cedar-Riverside neighborhood shooting

Minneapolis police say one person is recovering from an injury after a shooting in the city’s Cedar-Riverside neighborhood overnight.

According to police, officers were called to the are of S. Washington Avenue and S. 15th Avenue shortly before 11 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a shooting.

When they arrived, they found a man in his 30s with what police say is a minor gunshot wound.

So far, an investigation shows the man was inside of a parked vehicle, and speaking with someone who was in a separate parked vehicle.

While both of them heard gunfire and both vehicles were damaged, only one of them was injured.

Neither person was able to provide a description of who fired a gun.

A 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS photographer captured the scene near south Washington and Cedar avenues around 1:30 a.m. Thursday, and saw evidence markers scattered on the ground, as well as several shell casings. A vehicle also appeared to have a shattered back window.
