Police investigating homicide on St. Paul’s east side

A victim who was shot in the head died Tuesday evening in St. Paul, according to the St. Paul Police Department.

At around 6 p.m., officers responded to the 1200 block of Hazelwood Street on a report of a man shot in a vehicle.

When officers arrived at the scene, they located a man with a gunshot wound to the head in a pickup truck

.St. Paul Fire Department medics also responded and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

Witnesses who called 911 reported seeing a possible suspect run from the scene, police said.

This is the 22nd homicide in St. Paul this year.

According to police, a possible suspect has been taken in and is currently being questioned.

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner will identify the victim and cause of death at a later time.

More information is expected to be released at a later time.
