Minneapolis shooting leaves 18-year-old dead
Police are investigating a shooting in Minneapolis’ Midtown Phillips neighborhood on Tuesday night that left a man dead.
A 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS photographer was at the 2500 block Ogema Place around 9 p.m. and saw multiple police squads.
Minneapolis police provided more details late Wednesday morning, saying an 18-year-old man died at the scene.
On Wednesday, the victim was identified by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office as Tedrick Lamount Lamar Davis, of St. Paul. His cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds to the head.
Investigators are still working to determine what led up to the shooting. No word on any potential suspects.
Chief Brian O’Hara issued the following statement on the shooting:
“My thoughts are with all those impacted by this senseless act of violence. Our investigators will work tirelessly to give a voice to this person who can no longer speak for themselves and seek justice for him.”
