Police investigating homicide at Minneapolis gas station
The Minneapolis Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred at a gas station along West Broadway Avenue Monday morning.
According to police, at 11:08 a.m., officers responded to a report of shots fired along West Broadway Avenue. While officers were en route to the scene, they were notified someone had been shot.
When they arrived, police found a man, believed to be in his 30s, suffering from a gunshot wound.
The man didn’t have a pulse and wasn’t breathing when officers checked him. Police provided aid while other officers secured the scene and spoke with people in the area.
Paramedics arrived, and the man was taken to North Memorial Medical Center, where he died shortly after arriving. The man’s identity will be released at a later time, police said.
Police said a preliminary investigation indicated a verbal argument at the scene escalated and that at one point, a person at the scene pulled out a gun and fired. That suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival.
The shooting is under investigation.
