Police: Boy taken to hospital after shooting in north Minneapolis

A boy was taken to a hospital Thursday night after a shooting in north Minneapolis.

According to Minneapolis Police, officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation at about 11:16 p.m. in the 5200 block of Fremont Avenue North and found a male victim under 18 years of age suffering from a gunshot wound.

The boy was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

The victim told police he heard shots and then realized he’d been struck.

An investigation is ongoing.
