Overnight South St. Paul apartment fire sends 1 to hospital

Wednesday, one person was taken to the hospital after an overnight apartment fire in South St. Paul.

Fire officials said the person suffered some cuts, but an update on the person’s condition was not immediately available.

The fire reportedly started around 3 a.m. along Third Avenue South, near Southview Boulevard.

Officials said the fire only affected one apartment in the building’s lower level, and the fire was quickly extinguished.

The official cause of the fire is under investigation.
