Community members are trying to raise $1 million with the hope of enticing people to come forward with information to help solve the cases of four children shot in Minneapolis this year.

There’s already $180,000 being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual or individuals responsible for the shootings of Ladavionne Garrett Jr., 10, Trinity Ottoson-Smith, 9, and Aniya Allen, 6, during the first six months of 2021 in Minneapolis.

No one has been arrested in any of those cases.

In September, 12-year-old London Bean was also shot and killed in Minneapolis. Monday afternoon, Bean’s suspected killer turned himself in. Minneapolis Police said Monday that Jeremiah Marquise Grady was arrested and booked into Hennepin County Jail. He’s charged with two counts of second-degree murder in the fatal shooting of London Michael Bean and the attempted murder of a second juvenile.

Sunday, "Hotdogs4Peace" started what organizers are calling a "25-hour peace marathon" — they hope to raise $1 million to increase the reward for information. The event started at 3 p.m. Sunday and will stop at 4 p.m. Monday; they’re set up on the corner of 36th and Penn avenues North.

“A lot of people have seem to have forgotten about our children kind of pushed it under the rug,” KG Wilson, Aniya’s grandfather and long-time community activist, said.

“I’m angry,” Wilson added. “I’m angrier than I have ever been in my life. I’m furious because there’s still no justice.”
