One shot by passing vehicle during group fight at Minneapolis business

One person was shot after a group altercation that began inside a business at the corner of North Sixth Street and Hennepin Avenue in Minneapolis, police said.

Minneapolis police said they were helping clear out a business at 528 Hennepin Avenue when a group fight began to escalate.

More officers were then called to the scene, and the crowd was moved outside.

Police said at least two men continued to fight outside, when one of them was struck by gunfire from a passing vehicle.

Minneapolis police described, “Officers faced a significant challenge clearing the chaotic crowd and multiple fights from the sidewalks and roadways to allow access to emergency medical services.”

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for what police believe to be non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

No one has been arrested.

Officers have processed the scene.

The Minneapolis Police Department is investigating the incident.
