One dead after hitting parked semi in Fridley early Saturday

One person is dead after driving into a parked truck in Fridley early Saturday.
At 2:42 a.m., a 2008 Chevy Trailblazer was headed north on Highway 47 and crashed into the back of an unoccupied Freightliner truck, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. The Freightliner was parked on the 58th Avenue Northeast shoulder.
The 27-year-old male driver of the Trailblazer died. He was identified Monday as Desmond Lamond Williams, Sr., of Minneapolis.
An investigation is being conducted by Fridley police, the State Patrol, the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office and the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office.
