Officials report another wildfire in northern Minnesota
Another wildfire was reported Wednesday in northern Minnesota, according to Hubbard Broadcasting’s sister station, WDIO.
Fire officials said crews responded quickly to reports of a new fire near Britt, Minnesota.
According to the Superior National Forest Facebook page, the Moose Lake Fire was estimated to be 25 acres in size and is located in the Lake Leander area.
Firefighters and seven different aircraft, heavy equipment, and engines were called to the scene.
Officials said by 5 p.m., all aircraft except one helicopter were released from firefighting efforts.
A dozer was creating lines around the fire to create a fuel break. Engines and water tenders were expected to work throughout the evening.
The fire is located south of Lake Leander and Lake 14.
