Oakdale getting COVID-19 community vaccination site

The city of Oakdale will be the latest to get a permanent COVID-19 community vaccination site.

Gov. Tim Walz’s office said Thursday that the large-scale site will be located at Inwood Oaks by the end of the week.

Oakdale will be the eighth city to have a permanent community vaccination site, joining Minneapolis, Duluth, Rochester, Bloomington, St. Paul, St. Cloud and Mankato.

"Across the state, we continue to build an expansive network to bring vaccines directly to Minnesotans in their communities. Our Community Vaccine Program remains a key component of this life-saving network," Walz said. "The Community Vaccination sites are getting shots into arms safely and efficiently, and this new location will help us reach more Minnesotans 16 years and up."

Minnesotans who haven’t received a COVID-19 vaccine can sign up online to be notified of nearby vaccination opportunities or call 833-431-2053 between 9:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. to sign up over the phone.
