1 dead after weekend Kandiyohi Co. crash

UPDATE 7/25/22: The Minnesota State Patrol has identified the victims in a two-vehicle crash Sunday morning in Lake Andrew Township.
The driver of the northbound car, 52-year-old Dalia Zuniga of Willmar, died at the scene.
The car’s passenger, 31-year-old Sergio Vicente Valador-Venzor of Belgrade, was taken to Willmar hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the southbound pick-up truck – identified as an 18-year-old Willmar man – was taken to St. Cloud hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The report says the truck’s driver was under the influence of alcohol. No specifics about the events leading up to the crash have been provided.
No charges have been filed at this time.
INITIAL REPORT 7/24/22: Three people were involved in a fatal crash early Sunday morning in Kandiyohi County, according to the Minnesota Department of Public Safety.
The report says a car was traveling north on Highway 71 in Lake Andrew Township when it collided with a southbound pick-up truck carrying one occupant.
Multiple agencies responded to the crash scene around 2:20 a.m.
A 52-year-old woman from Willmar was driving the car, and a 31-year-old man from Belgrade was in the passenger seat.
An 18-year-old man from Willmar was driving the truck.
More details are expected to come later on Sunday.
