Motorcyclist killed in overnight crash with commercial truck on I-35W

Interstate 35 was closed for about three hours overnight after a fatal crash involving a motorcycle and a commercial truck, according to a Minnesota State Patrol report.

The State Patrol says the motorcyclist and truck driver were both traveling north on I-35W at 28th Street when they collided sometime between midnight and 1 a.m. Tuesday.

The report did not include details regarding the cause of the crash.

The motorcyclist, identified as 60-year-old Larry Dean Lewis of Minneapolis, died at the scene.

Lewis was reported to not be wearing a helmet.

The truck driver, a 48-year-old man from Des Moines, was not hurt.

No further information is expected to be released at this time.
