Monday is fish house removal deadline day for southern Minnesota
Fish houses need to be off of most Minnesota lakes by Monday night.
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) reminded anglers of the approaching deadline last week.
Fish houses on lakes in the southern two-thirds of the state have to be off lakes by 11:59 p.m. Monday. The deadline for the northern third of the state is 11:59 p.m. on March 21.
The DNR also reminds anglers to not leave any trash — including bait, blocking material, bottles, cans, cigarette butts and plastic bags filled with waste — behind on the lake.
While fish houses need to be removed from the lakes, the DNR notes that they can still be used between midnight and one hour before sunrise, as long as they’re occupied.
