Graffiti is something most drivers can see as they travel around the Twin Cities.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation is spending a lot of time and money cleaning up markings on walls, bridges and overpasses.
Over the last three years, MnDOT has spent about $100,000 and used around 5,000 gallons of paint to clean up the graffiti.
"It’s very frustrating," Dave Aeikens, MnDOT spokesman said. "There isn’t a lot we can do proactively, most of what we do is reactive. We just try and keep up the best we can."
MnDOT says the I-35W construction project isn’t even finished and it’s already been marked with graffiti.
