We’re gearing up for a wild week of weather including rain, ice and snow.
Over the next few days, MnDOT is preparing a plan to battle the elements all across the state.
“This is a slow mover so we’ve got several days where this might have an impact statewide on road conditions and travel impacts depending on where you are,” MnDOT spokeswoman Anne Meyer said.
The forecast is creating a challenge for MnDOT in every part of the state.
“Certainly up north this event could create a lot of snow so we got crews ready to take on that challenge,” Meyer said. “Out west though we could see that mixed precipitation, more icing kind of events happening so crews are ready for that. Here in the Twin Cities right now it’s only looking like rain at least for the early part of the storm.”
If you’re hitting the road this week, MnDOT says to make a plan.
“Know before you go,” Meyer said. “Check out your route before you get behind the wheel so you’ll know what impacts you’ll have.”
