Minnesotans waiting on vehicle registration tabs to receive verification letters
Minnesotans who mailed in their vehicle registration renewal and have not received their tabs will be issued a letter to use as proof of registration, according to the Minnesota Department of Public Safety Driver and Vehicle Services division.
The letters can be shown to law enforcement officers if drivers are stopped for having expired tabs. Those letters will expire at the end of August.
DVS has also notified law enforcement that some people have yet to receive the stickers they are required to put on their license plate to show proof of registration.
The department said it is experiencing processing delays for vehicle registration renewals that were sent by mail.
DVS says approximately 7,700 mailed-in registration renewals require additional processing.
