A Minnesota nonprofit is trying to help girls on the other side of the world.
Golden Valley-based Headwaters Relief Organization will deliver 2,000 dolls to girls in Nepal to help urge them to stay in school.
The group partnered with a multicultural doll maker to help girls identify their own strengths and potential through a doll that looks like them.
"How you look, whether it’s the color of your hair or the color of your eyes is beautiful, too, is critical in the formation of a young girl’s self-esteem," Headwaters founder Rebecca Thomley said.
The cost to sponsor a doll is $25.
You can donate on the Headwaters Relief website.
