Minnesota National Guard collects ‘misdirected’ COVID-19 vaccine doses
Friday, members of the Minnesota National Guard’s Medical Detachment collected a shipment of "misdirected" COVID-19 vaccine doses.
The National Guard said the shipment contained nearly 4,000 doses.
The guard collected the doses at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport and then began transporting them to the state’s corners to supply shot clinics this weekend.
According to the Governor’s Office, the federal government misdirected 11 boxes of vaccine to Memphis, Tenn. Gov. Tim Walz’s office then attempted to locate the boxes by reaching out to White House officials Friday afternoon. The boxes were then flown to the Twin Cities Friday night.
