Minnesota GOP convention to resume Saturday in Rochester

This weekend, members of the Minnesota GOP will be endorsing multiple positions ahead of this year’s election.

The 2022 State GOP Convention is taking place at the Mayo Civic Center in Rochester.

Friday, the GOP endorsed Jim Schultz for the party’s candidate for attorney general.

Party delegates also voted to endorse Kim Crockett as the candidate for secretary of state and Ryan Wilson for state auditor. Wilson was unopposed in his nomination.

The convention will resume Saturday at 9:00 a.m., with party delegates endorsing a candidate for Minnesota’s gubernatorial race.

A spokesman for Rich Stanek, who is running for governor, tells 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS Stanek won’t be attending the convention due to dealing with lingering effects of a car crash last month.
