Moses Crew, 52, and Felicia Crew, 50, had marked Sunday, June 27, 2021, as the day they would marry, but neither of them could imagine what would come their way before that date.
In early May, Moses Crew collapsed and died at work, and just a few months earlier Felicia had been diagnosed with stage-three lung cancer. But Felicia decided to hold the wedding day celebration despite losing her husband and blended the wedding celebration with the celebration of his life.
“He loved Minnesota. He was a great dude and, unfortunately, his life was cut short, but he’s in a better place,” she said.
Felicia Crew said holding the wedding party at the same time as Moses’ funeral was something he would have wanted.
“He was with me and I felt happiness and peace and I know he said, ‘Baby, I am proud of you. You pulled if off,’" she said.
Felicia Crew said she has completed her first round of cancer treatment and is optimistic things will go well.
