One Minneapolis woman is making her mark in the rodeo.

Twenty-year-old Jillian Zaun will compete in barrel racing at the Hamel rodeo this weekend. The sport combines speed with skill.

"You can be a great rider, and you can have a slow horse, and you’re never going to go anywhere," Zaun said. "You can have a really fast horse, and if you can’t ride it, you’re also not going anywhere."

Zaun has performed in rodeos all across the country.

"Personally, I’ve won about $60,000," Zaun said.

Zaun has been diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, but it hasn’t stopped her.

"I rarely think about it," she said.
