Minneapolis police say a man who had received what they called potential life-threatening injuries during a weekend shooting has now died.

According to police, they were informed Tuesday by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office the man had died after he was taken to Abbott Northwestern Hospital.

His death is now the eleventh one to be considered a homicide in the city this year.

The man’s name has not been released, however, police say he was in his 20’s.

Police say he was one of two people who were hospitalized for injuries related to the shooting.

Officials say another man, who is also identified as being in his 20’s, received non-life threatening injuries.

The injuries stem from an incident on Sunday, February 27, when police were called to a report of gunfire in the 3400 block of 10th Avenue S at 3:42 p.m. near the southwest corner of Powderhorn Park.
