Minneapolis police: Assault ends in death, son of victim arrested

Minneapolis police say one man is in custody after a domestic assault resulted in his father’s death.
According to police, officers were called to the area of Elliot Avenue South and East 47th Street at about 9 p.m. Thursday on a report of a domestic assault that included injuries.
Officers say they forced their way into a home after receiving information from family members and observing the scene.
Once inside, they found a man who had died.
They then arrested another man, who has been identified as the victim’s son. He is being held at the Hennepin County Jail on suspicion of probable cause murder.
The names and ages of those involved weren’t immediately provided, however, the medical examiner’s office will be releasing the name of the deceased, as well as the nature and cause of death.
