Minneapolis police: 7 adults, 2 juveniles hurt in 4 separate incidents spanning 4 hours

Minneapolis police report seven adults and two juveniles were hurt in four separate incidents that spanned about four hours Tuesday into Wednesday.

Here is a timeline of what happened overnight in Minneapolis:

10:14 p.m. Tuesday

Police said a man was sitting in his car on the 2200 block of West Broadway Avenue when an unknown person approached him and shot him.

The victim was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center with injuries not considered to be life-threatening.

Additional information was not yet made available and the investigation is ongoing, police reported.


10:54 p.m.

This incident involved a traffic altercation along the 3700 block of Morgan Avenue North, police reported.

A person shot at two juveniles inside a car in the area. Both suffered injuries not considered to be life-threatening.

One juvenile was taken to a nearby hospital by ambulance and the other was picked up by family.

The Minneapolis Crime Lab was assisting at the scene and the investigation is ongoing, police reported.


1:03 a.m. Wednesday

Officers responded to the 200 block of West Broadway Avenue after receiving a ShotSpotter notification in the area.

Officers arrived and found two adults who had suffered apparent gunshot wounds. The two were taken to Hennepin County Medical Center.

Meanwhile, officers learned another three individuals who were hurt at the scene had arrived at HCMC.

A preliminary investigation revealed a verbal argument escalated into a shooting, police stated.

Police said the five adults—two women and three men—all suffered injuries not considered to be life-threatening.

This investigation is underway, police said.

2:11 a.m.

Officers responded to the area of Portland Avenue South and East Lake Street after receiving a report of a stabbing.

Upon arrival, police learned a man had arrived at Abbott Northwestern Hospital with a stab wound not considered to be life-threatening.

A preliminary investigation revealed two men began arguing over money and the disagreement resulted in a stabbing.

Police are continuing to investigate.
