Metro Transit to strongly advise face coverings for those who ride the bus, light rail train

Friday, Metro Transit announced face coverings will be strongly advised while riding buses or light rail trains, effective Monday, in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines.

Face coverings include masks, tightly woven cotton, bandanas and scarves. Children under the age of 2, along with those who have trouble breathing or are unable to remove the face covering without assistance, are exempt from wearing them.

Metro Transit says service cannot be denied and customers will not be removed if they are not wearing a face covering.

Despite the May 18 expiration of the 'stay at home' order, Metro Transit says they will not be resuming regular service.
