MDH: 62 newly reported COVID-19 deaths, 6,936 newly reported cases
Thursday, the Minnesota Department of Health reported*:
- 62 newly reported deaths from COVID-19
- 6,936 newly reported positive COVID-19 tests
*Thursday’s newly reported cases include some cases that were delayed in getting reported due to a processing error, MDH said.
Additionally, MDH said:
- 8.8 million COVID-19 vaccinations have been administered
- 1.77 million third-dose and booster shots have been administered
- 3.53 million people have completed the vaccine series
- 72.3% of those 5 and older have received at least one dose of the vaccine

Meanwhile, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported, as of Thursday, 83 of the 87 counties in Minnesota remained at a high level of COVID-19 community transmission.
