MDH: 46 newly-reported COVID-19 deaths, 3,655 newly-reported cases

Monday, the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) reported*:

  • 46 newly-reported deaths from COVID-19**
  • 3,655 newly-reported positive COVID-19 tests

*Data posted on Mondays represents data as of 4 a.m. on Fridays.

**MDH reports one death was from October, six were from November and 39 were from this month.

Additionally, MDH said:

  • 8.22 million COVID-19 vaccinations have been administered
  • 1.36 million third-dose and booster shots have been administered
  • 3.44 million people have completed the vaccine series
  • 70.8% of those 5 and older have received at least one dose of the vaccine

As of Monday, MDH also reported:

  • 116,237 total breakthrough cases, accounting for 3.513% of fully vaccinated Minnesotans
  • 4,701 total breakthrough hospitalizations, accounting for 0.142% of fully vaccinated Minnesotans
  • 839 breakthrough deaths, accounting for 0.025% of fully vaccinated Minnesotans

Meanwhile, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported, as of Monday, 86 counties in Minnesota remained at a high level of COVID-19 community transmission. One county, Red Lake County, was considered at a substantial spread.

According to the CDC, counties in red have a high level of community transmission, in orange have a substantial level, in yellow have a moderate level and in blue have a low level.
