MDH: 40 newly-reported COVID-19 deaths, 3,886 new cases

On Wednesday, the Minnesota Department of Health reported:

  • 40 newly reported deaths from COVID-19*
  • 3,886 newly-reported positive COVID-19 tests

*The 40 deaths noted in Wednesday’s report included data from December 2020 (1), July (1), September (23) and October (15).

Additionally, MDH said:

  • Over 6.51 million COVID-19 vaccinations have been administered
  • Over 3.24 million people have completed the vaccine series
  • 73.6% of those 16 and older have received at least one dose of the vaccine

Meanwhile, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported, as of Wednesday, 86 counties in Minnesota remained at a high level of COVID-19 community transmission. One county is considered at a substantial spread.

According to the CDC, counties in red have a high level of community transmission, in orange have a substantial level, in yellow have a moderate level and in blue have a low level.
