MDH: 20 newly-reported COVID-19 deaths, 7,173 newly-reported cases

Tuesday, the Minnesota Department of Health reported*:

• 20 newly-reported deaths from COVID-19**
• 7,173 newly-reported positive COVID-19 tests***

*Data reported on Tuesdays represents data as of the remainder of Friday, Saturday, Sunday and as of 4 a.m. on Monday.

**MDH reported three deaths were from October and 17 deaths were from this month.

***Last week, MDH stated that newly-reported cases may include reinfections (a confirmed or probable case from a person that previously had COVID-19 at least 90 days prior.)

Additionally, MDH said:

• 7.16 million COVID-19 vaccinations have been administered
• 3.30 million people have completed the vaccine series
• 67.1% of those 5 and older have received at least one dose of the vaccine

Meanwhile, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported, as of Tuesday, all 87 counties in Minnesota remained at a high level of COVID-19 community transmission.

According to the CDC, counties in red have a high level of community transmission, in orange have a substantial level, in yellow have a moderate level and in blue have a low level.
