MDH: 17 newly-reported COVID-19 deaths, 3,714 new cases

Friday, the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) reported:

• 17 newly-reported deaths from COVID-19*
• 3,714 newly-reported positive COVID-19 tests

*MDH states 14 deaths were reported in September, one was from August, and two were from January.

Additionally, MDH said:

• 6.45 million COVID-19 vaccinations have been administered
• 3.23 million people have completed the vaccine series
• 73.4% of those 16 and older have received at least one dose of the vaccine

Meanwhile, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported, as of Friday, 84 counties in Minnesota remained at a high level of COVID-19 community transmission.

According to the CDC, counties in red have a high level of community transmission, in orange have a substantial level, in yellow have a moderate level and in blue have a low level.
