Firefighters battled a massive house fire burning on the shore of Lake Minnetonka in Woodland Wednesday evening.

Pictures and videos of the fire showed large flames engulfing the home at about 6:45 p.m.

Lindsi Boynton-Lilledahl, whose home is next to the one that caught fire, told KSTP her son first saw the flames and told her at about 6:45 p.m.

Boynton-Lilledahl said the home was under construction and was nearly finished, but thankfully nobody was home.

Multiple fire departments were on scene battling the flames for hours.

The Wayzata Fire Department told KSTP it was called at about 6:15 p.m., and by the time firefighters arrived, the home was fully engulfed.

The department confirmed the house was under construction and because there are no hydrants in the area, crews had to use tankers.

The wind and bitter cold made it extra challenging for firefighters, the fire department reported, but crews were primarily focused on putting out hot spots at the end of the night.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The fire created such a large smoke plume it showed up on radar.

Chopper 5 flew over the scene of the fire Wednesday evening, which you can see below.
