UPDATE: Maplewood police release suspect vehicle description after fatal pedestrian hit-and-run

UPDATE: Maplewood police have released a description of a suspect vehicle connected to a fatal hit-and-run investigation.

Police are asking for help finding a dark blue 2011-2020 Dodge Caravan with significant front right-end damage.

The van is believed to be involved in a fatal hit-and-run that happened around 10 p.m. Friday near the intersection of McKnight Road and Margaret Street.

In the area of 3M Lake and Maplewood Fire Station 310, officers saw two vehicles stopped by a person who had been hit in the roadway.

Despite efforts from first responders, the victim died at the scene. He was identified Monday as 56-year-old Mark Koepke, from St. Paul.

The vehicle that had struck Koepke was not there when police arrived.
