Crews battling 3-alarm fire in Dayton
Fire officials say they are on the scene of a large, two-story house fire that has now gone to the third alarm level in Dayton Tuesday morning.
According to the Maple Grove Fire Department, crews were called to the 13000 block of 114th Avenue North just after 6:15 a.m.
Officials say the first crews who arrived found fire in the basement, and everyone who lived in the home was accounted for and outside of the home.
The fire extended to the attic, and crews were pulled back from the basement fire attack.
Due to concealed fire inside of walls and void spaces, officials say the attic fire was difficult to knock-down and put out.
The fire departments are cited cold weather conditions, which caused additional resources to be brought in from Albertville, Hamel, Loretto and West Metro Fire.
Firefighters are helping to extinguish the flames with multiple other fire departments from Anoka, Hennepin and Sherburne counties.
Water tenders are being used to supply water due to a lack of hydrants in the area.
Firefighters were still at the scene as of 10:15 a.m. Tuesday.
