Man shot and killed at Metro Transit station in Minneapolis, police investigating

Police are investigating after a man was shot and killed at a Metro Transit station Thursday afternoon.

According to the Minneapolis Police Department, police were called to the Metro Transit station on the 2300 block of E. Lake Street at 2:25 p.m.

When police arrived at the scene, they found a man in his late 20s suffering from a gunshot wound. Life-saving efforts were taken however the man was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene.

Police believe that the shooting began as a fight between two people before escalating.

The shooter fled the scene before police arrived. There have been no arrests and no known suspects as of Thursday afternoon.

MPD and Metro Transit officers are looking for any video in the area and speaking with a number of people who may have been around the scene.
