Man killed in downtown Minneapolis nightclub shooting identified
The victim in a downtown Minneapolis nightclub shooting from this past weekend has been identified.
According to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner, the victim has been identified as 23-year-old Ameer Green Jr. His cause of death was due to multiple gunshot wounds.
According to the Minneapolis Police Department, officers responded to multiple 911 calls stating that shots were being fired inside a building, later identified as Rouge at the Lounge nightclub, on the 400 block of Second Avenue N. Some callers also told police that someone had been shot.

Authorities arrived on scene and described it as chaotic. Officers located Green Jr., who was suffering from a gunshot wound. At the time, police say the victim did not have a pulse and was not breathing. However, after officers began chest compressions and chest seals were applied, a heartbeat was reestablished. He was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC), where he later died from his injuries.
Another victim suffered a gunshot wound that was considered to be not life-threatening in the incident.
The case is still under investigation and police do not have anyone in custody relating to the shooting.
