Man hit by Metro Transit bus, critically injured in Loring Park neighborhood

A man was critically injured Thursday night after a Metro Transit bus hit him in Minneapolis.

Metro Transit Police said the incident happened just before 7 p.m. near Nicollet Avenue and East 14th Street.

A witness at the scene told KSTP the victim was distracted and didn’t see the bus coming before he stepped onto the road and was hit.

Authorities said the man was taken to a hospital and is in critical condition.

An investigation is underway.
