The city of Lake Elmo is evicting a handful of goats from one neighborhood.
Five years ago, Scott Gove and his wife bought five goats, raising them as pets at their Lake Elmo home.
Last month the city sent a letter to Gove saying they received a complaint and goats aren’t allowed on the couple’s property.
“It was horrible,” Gove said. “It’s deemed a nuisance to have farm animals on less than five acres. People are like fight it, don’t give them away.”
Gove decided to give the goats to a nearby farm.
“I figure we have to make this decision and it’s best for the goats,” Gove said.
We reached out to the city of Lake Elmo for a response but didn’t hear back.
