Man found dead in Inver Grove Heights; homicide investigation underway

UPDATE: On Monday night, police updated the situation to a homicide investigation. At this time, it does not appear there is a danger to the community and this is not believed to be a random act according to a release from the Inver Grove Heights Police Department.


Police are investigating after a man was found dead in Inver Grove Heights on Monday.

According to Inver Grove Heights Police, officers were called to the 1300 block of 60th Street West at about 8 a.m. on a report of a suspicious incident. There, officers found a man lying in a snowbank on the south side of the road. Police said the man was unresponsive and pronounced dead.

The area was closed Monday morning while an investigation was conducted. The department said it will lead the investigation but the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension will also assist.
