Man dies from Minneapolis shooting, no suspect in custody

A man suffering from a gunshot wound died at the hospital early Thursday morning in Minneapolis.

According to the Minneapolis Police Department, at about 3:00 a.m., 911 calls came in reporting a shooting that happened in a parking lot on the 2200 block of Lyndale Avenue South.

Officers arrived at the scene and located a man lying outside of a business suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim, who was in grave condition, was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center by ambulance.

A short time later, the police department was advised that the victim had died at the hospital.

The preliminary investigation indicates that two people got into a dispute and shots were fired. Evidence at the scene leads investigators to believe the individuals knew each other.

The medical examiner will release the victim’s identity, along with the nature and cause of death in the days to come.

The incident remains under investigation.
