Minneapolis police say a man is dead after he was hit by a vehicle late Wednesday night at the border of the city’s Willard-Hay and Jordan neighborhoods.

According to police, officers were called to the area of Logan Avenue and West Broadway at about 11:30 p.m. for a report of a pedestrian who was hit by a vehicle near the intersection.

When officers arrived, they found a man in his 30’s lying on West Broadway, and the driver of the vehicle wasn’t there.

Although efforts were made to save the man, police say he died at the scene. His name and cause of death are expected to be released at a later date.

Police say their preliminary information shows the driver of the vehicle which hit the man left the scene. No vehicle or driver descriptions were immediately provided.

As of this time, no one has been arrested.
