Man dies at Minneapolis hospital following Wednesday shooting

The Minneapolis Police Department says a man has died following a shooting that occurred in the city Wednesday night.

According to police spokesperson John Elder, the victim, in his late teens, was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center by advanced life support ambulance and died on Thursday.

The shooting happened in the 1800 block of Nicollet Avenue South.

Investigators responded to the scene and interviewed a number of people who may have been in the area at the time of the shooting. Minneapolis Police Department Crime Lab personnel responded as well to document the scene and collect evidence.

The medical examiner will release the identity, along with the nature and cause of death, in the coming days.
