Man dies at hospital after Monday shooting in north Minneapolis

A man has died after being shot in north Minneapolis on Monday night.

According to Minneapolis Police, officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation in the area of 1800 Bryant Avenue North at about 6:50 p.m. While en route, officers learned the incident was a shooting resulting in a vehicle crash.

Officers found that the vehicle had crashed in the 1800 block of Bryant Avenue North with a man believed to be in his late 20s in the driver’s seat suffering from a gunshot wound.

Police said the officers provided medical aid to the man until paramedics arrived and transported the man to a hospital in critical condition.

The department said officers were notified Wednesday night that the victim had died at the hospital.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the victim’s name and cause of death at a later time.

No arrests in the case have been announced.
