Man dead after shooting outside of tobacco shop in Minneapolis
A man is dead after he was shot Saturday evening in south Minneapolis.
According to the Minneapolis Police Department, officers responded to multiple reports of a shooting around 6:49 p.m. on the 2700 block of Minnehaha Avenue. First responders found a man who had been shot and began life-saving measures.
The victim was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center but was pronounced dead a short time later.
Investigators say the shooting does not appear to be random and that the shooter and the victim most likely knew each other.
The shooting remains under investigation.
This is the 70th homicide of the year in Minneapolis, according to police statistics.
