Man arrested after allegedly shooting at vehicle in St. Louis County
A Makinen man was arrested after allegedly firing a gun at another vehicle in St. Louis County.
The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office stated it received a report of a driver shooting at another vehicle on Townline Road at about 5 a.m. Monday.
Authorities responded, located a vehicle matching the description provided by the victim, and arrested a 25-year-old man. The sheriff's office identified the man as Daniel Edmund Reitmajer.
Authorities said they don't believe Reitmajer knew the victim and the incident appears to have been a random act of violence.
The sheriff's office later added that at least one bullet struck the victim's vehicle, breaking the rear window and also hitting the front windshield.
After executing a search warrant at Reitmajer's home, authorities found the firearm believed to have been involved.
The sheriff's office said Reitmajer admitted to using meth within 24 hours of the shooting.
Nobody was injured.
He's being charged with attempted second-degree murder, second-degree assault with a firearm and fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance.
The investigation remains active.
