Man airlifted to hospital after snowmobile crash near Clearwater

A man was airlifted to a hospital on Thursday after his snowmobile crashed near the city of Clearwater.

The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called to a trail northwest of Franklin Road, about a mile north of Clearwater, at 5:40 p.m.

Authorities determined the man was driving his snowmobile on the trail when he lost control and it overturned.

The man was found unresponsive at the scene and was airlifted to a hospital.

The sheriff’s office said the man was in stable condition in a medically induced coma on Friday.
