Lutsen to reopen for skiing, snowboarding Saturday

Skiers and snowboarders will have one last chance to hit the slopes this weekend.

Lutsen Mountains announced Wednesday that they will reopen the slopes this Saturday.

This is the latest date for skiing and snowboarding at the resort since it opened in 1948.

The resort plans to have 10 to 12 runs open.

Mountain General Manager Jim Vick says that after last weekend, there was still a three-foot base of snow, and “with sunshine and 50 degrees forecast for Saturday, it became an easy decision to spin the lift one more day.”

Season pass holders will receive a “bonus day” and discounted spring ticket rates are available.
