A longtime Twin Cities newspaper columnist has cleared out his desk.

Ruben Rosario wrote his last column for the Pioneer Press on Sunday, after taking a buyout from the paper.

"I decided to take that plunge and leave the paper, you know, with mixed emotions," Rosario said.

Rosario started his career as a copyboy at the New York Daily News. For more than two decades he wrote a column for Pioneer Press.

"I was very privileged and humbled and honored that people were able to open up and share their stories because in the end, it's their stories that resonated," Rosario said.

Rosario plans on putting together a book with his popular columns.
