A 19-year-old college student from Litchfield has been named the 68th Princess Kay of the Milky Way.

Anna Euerle was crowned during a ceremony at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds on Wednesday night.

She’ll now serve as the official goodwill ambassador for the nearly 2,500 dairy farmers in the state and will make public appearances to help connect consumers to Minnesota’s dairy farm families.

Euerle’s first official duty as Princess Kay will be to have her likeness sculpted in a 90-pound block of butter at the fair on Thursday and Friday, in what will also be butter sculptor Linda Christensen’s 50th and final year carving Princess Kay. The other nine finalists will be carved by Christensen’s successor, Minnesota native Gerry Kulzer.
