Lanes reopen after semis crash inside Lowry Hill Tunnel

UPDATE: Lanes have reopened after a crash in the Lowry Hill Tunnel in Minneapolis on Tuesday afternoon.

The Minnesota State Patrol says two semi-trucks collided, causing one of them to jackknife.

One of the trucks also had its fuel tank punctured, the State Patrol says. The tunnel was briefly shut down to clean the road and remove the trailers.

No injuries were reported.


Lane closures were in place Tuesday afternoon inside the Lowry Hill Tunnel in Minneapolis.

A crew was at the scene around 2:30 p.m.

Minnesota Department of Transportation traffic camera video showed authorities in the westbound lanes of Interstate 94. Some traffic was still able to get through the tunnel.
